Guest Spotlight: Amy Reid
We asked one of our guests Amy Reid to tell us a little more about her Dream Dinners Experience, her is what she said…
How many people generally ea
t at your dinner table? 5 people plus 1 baby in a high chair (she is not eating table food yet). We sometimes have 6 people eating when my stepson is there.
How did you hear about Dream Dinners? I saw a booth at the Freedom Festival in Provo in July of 2006. I met Jean and when I heard what Dream Dinners was, I immediately signed up for the soonest available appointment. I was so excited to try it!
What surprised you most about Dream Dinners? I was surprised with how much FUN it was to assemble the meals. I usually prefer to assemble my own meals at the store rather than paying for pre-assembly. I enjoy that little break away from my busy family life. It’s fun to listen to the music and measure my ingredients!
What do you like most about Dream Dinners? I love how quick and easy it is to whip together a delicious, healthy meal for my entire family after a very busy day teaching first grade. It is a life saver! I also love how it allows me more time to spend with my family.
What is your favorite dinnertime memory? I can’t think of one in particular, but I love sitting around the dinner table with my family talking about our day and about things that are important to us. My favorite dinners are the ones where we feel peace and family unity.
Why do feel it is important to eat together as a family? It really bonds the family together. It forces us to really talk to one another without the distractions of the TV, computer, cell phone, etc. We also teach our young children good manners and habits that they will use throughout their lives when we eat together.
A lot of women have expressed how Dream Dinners has brought a large amount of stress relief. Do you feel the same and if so please elaborate. Absolutely!!! I teach first grade and I’m the mother of one stepson and 4 children of my own. Before I found Dream Dinners, our family ate fast food meals much more often. We also ate a lot of “convenience” foods like frozen lasagna or corn dogs. With Dream Dinners, we eat healthy, wonderful meals that are fast and easy to make.
Now that dinner takes less work and less time what can you focus your attention on? My children!!! They are growing up so fast, I am happy to spend any time with them that I can.
What has been your favorite Dream Dinner? Gosh, it’s hard to choose! We LOVE the Chicken Enchiladas, the Firehouse Pasta with meatballs, and the Chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes.
